Cantor's Call to Axe Military Budget Means Job Losses in Virginia

Top US Republican: Military budget needs trim: Virginia Congressman and Republican House Majority Leader designate Eric Cantor may have just cost himself re-election in 2012. Cantor has called for US military budget cuts as part of the overall budget reduction process. The military is a major economic factor in Virginia and in Cantor's own district. Military budget cuts will mean fewer jobs and less spending in Virginia. Period.

AFP reports: "The US military will face budget cuts as lawmakers hunt for savings to rein in the country's deficit and national debt, senior US Republican Representative Eric Cantor said Tuesday.
'Everything is going to be on the table,' Cantor, set to become House Majority Leader on Wednesday, told reporters. 'Everybody is going to have to do more with less.'"
